Introducing the majestic Canvasback Ducks, a sight to behold! With their captivating beauty and graceful movements, these ducks are a true wonder of nature. Whether you’re an avid birdwatcher or simply appreciate the wonders of wildlife, the Canvasback Ducks will leave you in awe.

Often referred to as the “aristocrat of ducks”

Canvasback or “cans” as I like to call them are a prized target for photographers, bird watchers and hunters alike. Often referred to as the aristocrat of ducks, these majestic birds are larger than most ducks and can be identified at a distance for their uniquely shaped head.

Canvasback ducks migrate thru the Twin Cities area on the way toward their breeding grounds further north. They prefer large lakes and deep marshes to nest and raise young.

Theses canvasback were photographed on Vadnais Lake in Shoreview Minnesota using a Canon Mark IV D1 with a Canon L series 500 plus a 1.4X extender.
