White Tail Deer Swamp Monster

I’ve had the privilege to watch, photograph and video a true swamp monster white tail buck this fall. I have seen this deer in years past and he’s extra wide and big this year. I visited this area a few times in the last week or so and his demeanor changes from day to day. When first found this big buck did not leave a doe he was particularly fond of. He followed her everywhere. Other bucks were also present and a few attempted to close in on the favored doe but each buck was easily dismissed by the swamp monster. A big 13 pointer was also among the group of bucks and he didn’t even make an approach staying well off in the distance. I’ve often heard a doe can bring in the bucks from quite a distance away but this scene was new to me. At least 6 bucks were in the vicinity of the swamp monsters doe. A couple of days later I returned  and found this buck to be feeding and meandering about the woods with no particular care to the does in the area. In fact no bucks were trailing does at all. I know quite a few deer hunters and they all say there’s a time frame for breeding and general buck fever. I hear it’s November 1-5  but it can go a bit longer in some instances depending on location. My recent experience was November 10th and 14th. I once again returned to the area on November 16 and on my hike of many miles bucks were chasing does. Chasing so much that I could not really photograph or video them. I plan to return to the area again. I’ll report back on this blog site soon.
